Personally I dont do it a thank you and goodbye is sufficent I think but you are not alone alot of people do this when they ahve gotten out of a car but I dont know if they feel lost if they haven't done it.

You have on your question if it just an irish drunken thing, do you only do it when you are drunk???

I'Ve done it for years, its like a pat on the back gesture, a big thank you, but beware inside the car it's quite loud, and do make sure you dont(as your a female) tap your rings or bracelet on the roof as this is annoying, particularly if the persons fussy over the car.

As long as you say 'Thank You' to the drive first, I can't see any great harm in tapping the car too - but then we all do odd things when we've had a drink. As if the car is going to be grateful for you appreciating it having driven you home??

desirable me if i'm incorrect yet Muslims are not meant to drink the two, are they? So, in case you extremely should be genuine on your faith then my advise could be to give up eating as a frequently happening step, after which you will continuously be on top of problems with your colleges. Sorry yet i'm a white bi-male who has taken an Asian (i'm guessing Muslim) to my mattress a mutually as lower back at his request and then been instructed to not touch him lower back while he have been given a to blame ethical experience here day. you should make a selection of what extremely concerns for you: Being genuine to your self and your orientation ,in spite of that is, or being a terrific Muslim. in case you prefer to be a terrific Muslim, give up the wild partying, not extra alcohol, not extra drugs and much less intercourse with adult men. faith defines for you a ethical code and purely you understand in case you are able to stay in the confines of that code. i used to be a Christian and that i now not call myself a Christian by way of fact I abandoned those codes of habit and defined new ones for myself. If intercourse is all it is for you and you haven't any choose for a male companion, then knock it on the pinnacle now!! in case you are able to not carry your head up over what you're doing, then you definately probably should not be doing it: you will discover that the shame of your strikes a ways outweighs any excitement you're able to get from such encounters. So, confident, positioned it interior the previous and till you ever finally end up feeling genuine love for yet another guy, then bypass away it interior the previous and be guided by using your faith as on your destiny habit.

It's a courtesy tap. It lets the driver know your out of the car and a safe distance away so they can drive off. It's also saying "thank you".

I jump on the bonnet of the car and give the driver a bum flash before they leave. Not sure if its an Irish thing but its definatly a drunken thing!!!!

The tap on the roof , is a normal reaction, cause as u say bye, u think they cant hear u , so tap of the roof, which gives the same meaning,, u are acknowledging them..
